Sport can hardly be accused of being boring lately. Yesterday had three different stories which all will have caught the back pages this morning.

Firstly must be the knockout of Germany from Euro 2012. The Italian team who were seen very much to be the underdog in this match managed to knock the Germans out with a score of 2 – 1. Both Italian goals came from the controversial player Balotelli which sealed their move into the final to play Spain, at team that they have not lost to since the 1020s.

The second surprise was that Rafa Nadal, was knocked out of Wimbledon by the ranked outside Lukas Rosal who is ranked 100 in the world. Nadal never looked comfortable in the match and was very unhappy when the roof was closed for fading light. This is however good news for Andy Murray who looses Nadal from his group.

However Murray himslef was accused of cheating, well not actually Murray but match officials, by Ivo Karlovic who he beat yesterday.

Karlovic, a 6ft 10in Croatian claimed he was foot faulted more times in this match than he had in his whole life.

“After this match the credibility of this tournament went down for me,” said Karlovic. “I feel cheated. On a Grand Slam Centre Court…I don’t know what to say.”

So who knows what this weekend will bring, anyone willing to bet on the Euro 2012 result, I´m not.

I was quite surprised to hear today of the plan to hold a London Grand Prix. Bernie Ecclestone will be unveiling plans tonight for a circuit that would be for 3.2 miles starting outside Buckingham Palace and taking in such historic landmarks as Nelson´s Column and Piccadilly Circus. It has also been reported that Hamilton and Button have both been involved in the design of the route.

What do I think, well as good as I am sure this would be for London, I am starting to feel that there are too many street circuits and lets face it Monaco is the ultimate and very hard to beat.

Valencia street circuit has multiple complaints from drivers that is is impossible to overtake because it is a street circuit giving it the title of one of the most boring races of the season, although not this year.

On a less serious note taking one of the most congested cities in the world for traffic and shutting it down for two days could be seen as a little daft, unless you are charging the drivers the congestion charge?

Well tonight Spain meets Portugal in the Euro and this local derby (well local in Iberian terms) is set to be a great match, well lest hope so. Spain have proved so far in the competition to be as strong as ever although it could be said that they have not yet met any real opposition in the teams they have played.

Spain have met Portugal in a match 34 times which is more than any other isde and they have won an impressive 16 times losing only 6.

Portugal, of course have the one ace up their sleve in the form of Christiano Rinaldo, who plays in Spain and know well how a lot of the Spanish team play, many of them are his team mates during the season.

So, even if your team has been knocked out (sorry England) tune into this match tonight. It is certain to be worth it.

Ok so I am going to put my petrol head away for a couple of minutes and talk football. Well after all football is a sport and this is a sports blog isnt it?

Well anyway I have been biting my tongue for song long I can keep quiet no longer. You see there is one word that is repeatedly coming to mind b o r i n g.

I have never seen such dull football in my life. I have seen more exciting games in the old Vauxhall league with Yeovil Town on their sloping pitch (which is now a Tescos).

Ok there have been some exciting moments, like the goal that was not a goal that was a goal really in the Sweden match (Blatter you complete prat), oh yes and that amazing move from Ronaldo that resulted in him hitting the wood work but just showed him to be the world class player he is.

A couple of nice moments for me too. Torres actually scoring after everyone said he wouldn’t was nice but the best bit was last night watching Spain beat France. Xabi Alonso was playing his 100th game for his country and scored both Goals. He along with Stevie G are my favorite players, good players, not big headed and still able to put them selves forward as gentlemen.

Well at least not many penally shoot outs yet although there is time. Bring back some players with some personality please. Before one of us dies of boredom.

Ok so now I have calmed down from my visit to Valencia which I should add was a beautiful city wit the most amazing building, I will now tell you about the race which I had to enjoy from the comfort of my own arm chair. Not quite the same but fun all the same.

Vettle was in pole position but this was not going to be his day. A race which has the reputation of being quite a boring one was far from it this year.

Hamilton was also not going to have a good day after starting in second place on the grid he crashed out of the race.

So who was it. Everyone knew this was going to be a hard fought race as drivers wanted that all important second win, surely it could not be another different winer this time.

Well if I was to say that Spain had a good weekend you will probably work it out. Firstly the football and then F1 with Alonso winning the race and being the only driver t have two wins this season.

So Alonso leads the drivers championship but it all still to play for who knows what will happen next.

Well this weeks blog is something a little more special for me. Why I hear you ask, well for the first time in a very long time I was there. Yes I made it to the valencia Grand Prix known as the European Grand Prix. Well ok not the actual race but I happen to find myself in Valencia this weekend and because of that I managed to swing a couple of tickets from a friend.

So Hugo and I went along to see what all the fuss was about. Well the chance to see some of my heros racing was just too much for me. The atmosphere was amazing and I had an amazing time.

It is hard to sum up the atmosphere of the race but I should say that it was spectacular and if you ever have the chance to go you should, regardless of whether it is for the timer trials or the actual race. We had a supaswaptastic time.

Valencia Grand Prix

Well it is all to play for. After 6 races this season there are 6 winners. Yesterday at the Monaco grand prix Mark Webber won making it one of the most exciting driver title races in recent years.

So why is this the case. It quite simple really, technology. The cars now are so close to each other the competition is much more on driver ability. Also there have been many more regulations recently to unify car construction. Another factor is the develop of tyre technology from Pirelli which allows the tyres to adapt to temperature changes.

We at SupaSwap are really looking forward to the rest of the season, so excited.

It was like going back in time with Michael Schumacher being fastest in practice for the Monaco grand prix however he does not get pole position in today’s race. That honour goes to Mark Webber after Schumacher was given a 5 place penalty after an incident in a previous race.

The Monaco grand prix is one of the most prestigious races on the circuit with the route following the roads though the principality itself. The race has being going since 1929.

Let’s see if Schumacher  can make up the difference a get back the lead in this race. SupaSwap will be here to let you know.

Well I could not do a little follow up on the Spanish Grand Prix. There was me thinking that the story would be all about how well hamilton could do, how wrong could I be.

Well Pastor Maldonado held on to his pole position, holding back a strong challenge from Fernando Alonso to win the race giving Williams its first victory in eight years, however the celebrations quickly turned into concern when a fire started in the teams garage which left 31 people injured but thankfully no injuries.

Some injuries were serious burn wounds and the most serious were air lifted to local hospitals in Barcelona while others were treated by track medics

Williams, who will be celebrating his 70th birthday this weekend had to be led out of the garage while making a speech due to the fire.

It has been confirmed that a fuel leak caused the fire and goes to show what a dangerous place a F1 track can be if not treated with caution and respect.

Buenos Dias! Today, 13th May sees the next fixture in the Grand Prix season, the Spanish Grand Prix at the Circuit of Catalunya. The track is 4.655 kms long and after 66 laps the drives will have traveled 307.104km. The lap record is held by K Raikkonen back in 2008.

This is the first of two races that take place in Spain with a later fixture of the European Grand Prix being held in Spain’s third city of Valencia, but we will talk about that one in a later blog.

There is a little bit of controversy with this years race. Luis Hamilton will start the race at the back of the grid even though he qualified in pole position. The reason for his disqualification was a mistake in his fuel. Not the wrong type just not enough and he was unable to make his way back to the pits under his own power, from which a fuel sample would be taken to fulfill the regulations. This has given Pastor Maldonado, who races for Williams-Renault, his first pole position.

So Hamilton seems to have an almost impossible task in this race, but people have written him off too quickly in the past. SupaSwap advice for this race, Do not count your chickens to early.
